On Sunday Linda and I went to the Cat Haven to take some photos to produce a calender that the Cat Haven can sell to raise money for their shelter. We discovered just how challenging cats are to photograph. It was my job to entertain the cats and kittens by playing with them or bribing them with food. Sometimes it didn’t work. We were there for about 4 hours and we managed to get 6 photos we can use for the calender, we need to go back and get another 6. This is what we have so far…Amanda

Well let me show you with two photos that were taken of me.

I have somewhat become the photo guinea-pig at the studio. Before every shoot we do, we test the lights to ensure we are giving our clients the best quality photos possible. So, I have been getting my photo taken regulary and there have been some shockers. But also some very nice ones. Being in front of the camera (instead of behind) allows me to say, with complete honesty, “I know how it feels”.

So, as the test dummy, we did an experiement with two different poses. Both taken on the same day. But the different poses and lighting make a huge difference in how old and large I appear in the photo. I personally prefer the photo where I am leaning on my hand. I’m currently using this photo as my facebook profile….Amanda

We take the time to get the studio lighting right, only using the most flattering light combinations to suit your face and body shape, along with careful placement of the angles in your face.

Along with great lighting, we also take the time to retouch all ordered images. There are two levels of retouch we do, Level 1 is the basic editing done, ie, eye and teeth whitening, if needed and under eye shadows lightened. We automatically do this.

For those that want just that little bit extra, we also offer a more advanced editing level. Level 2 softens lines and wrinkles and smooths the skin correcting uneven skin tones.

As you can see from the 2 samples below, the effect is very subtle in both images. We offer these retouching services at no charge to you. We want you to be happy with your images and don’t believe you should have to pay extra for them….Linda
